Earlier this month Microsoft announced the hiring of Guido van Rossum,
the creator of the Python programming language, which is frequently used
to for data science and AI applications.
Van Rossum, who came out of retirement to work at Microsoft, is just one
of many influential engineers working at the company right now. The
contributions of these Microsoft executives and developers have
drastically shaped software development and will affect the next
generation of developers, says vice president and principal analyst at
Forrester Jeffrey Hammond.
“Every single of these folks I met are great, they’re down to earth,
they’re approachable,” Hammond told Business Insider. “They relate to
developers because they are developers. I think that’s incredibly
